A key part of our approach to Sustainability is helping to inspire young people to work in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Maths). Our team in Italy demonstrated our strong commitment to this with their recent participation in a student exhibition in Genova called Orientagiovani (Careers Fair).
Orientagiovani brought together several local authorities, many students (aged 10-18 years) and teachers from middle and high schools across the Liguria region. Administration Assistant Cristina Rizzi represented Infineum Italia at this careers fair, to share her knowledge and experience of our industry.
As a prominent supporter and founding contributor to another project called Fabbriche Aperte Giovani (opening doors to students), Infineum Italia is helping young people, many of whom attended the careers fair, to understand more about our industry so they might consider a STEM career. This is just one of the many ways that Infineum Italia are building connections with the local community and student population to promote STEM.
Cristina said: “It was very fulfilling to see many young people inspired by what we do. I was impressed to see students so conscious of how science can help preserve the environment and by their willingness to work for organisations for whom this is a top priority. This enabled me to talk about Infineum’s purpose: to create a sustainable future with innovative chemistry.”
